Administrative Discharge and Alumni Events

Abstract

Topic Initiated: Spring Collaborative 2019

It has been estimated that 20–25 percent of patients admitted to specialized addiction treatment in the United States leave on an administrative discharge (AD), i.e. are “kicked out” for various infractions prior to completing their treatment. Some leave against medical advice (AMA). Technically, that disqualifies them as alumni, so should AD/AMA patients be allowed to attend alumni events?
