Leonard Bade

Leonard Bade is founder of Bespoke Professional Group. He combines 30 years of executive experience and expertise developing leaders with his 30 years of personal recovery and supporting others’ long term recovery from alcohol and drug addiction. This process includes recovery support integration into their home environment, including family support; (re)aligning personal life goals with purpose, values, and passions; and a special emphasis on executive’s re-entry into their organizations. He is uniquely qualified to work with C level executives and leaders. He has supported recovery at all levels of society and varied cultures; from the highly affluent into the deep townships of South Africa.

Leonard Bade first began working in the treatment field at the Menninger Clinic in Topeka, KS in 1975 in the Alcoholic Recovery Program. He has since studied in the field of addiction and began an association with the Betty Ford Center in 1983, where his personal sobriety began. Leonard was the first President of the Betty Ford Alumni Association for 2 years in 1983- 1985. He served on numerous recovery advisory board s and returned to The Center in 2001 as the Vice President of Alumni Services and helped create one of the most dynamic alumni long term recovery support programs in the industry. His efforts resulted in establishing 45 support groups in 23 regions across North America. He led a group of over 140 volunteers who, over a nine year period, maintained over 80% recovery rate.

In addition to his work in the recovery field, he is noted for his work with organizations facilitating dynamic strategies; leadership development; creating cultures of collaboration, accountability, and service to ensure organizational strategies are fully realized. His work has received acclaim in state, national and international forums. He is a successful executive coach and consultant, specializing in coaching executives who are in personal recovery from addictions and other behavioral health issues.

He recently completed his Masters in Organization Development from Pepperdine Graziadio School of Business. His Master’s thesis; Extending the Benefits of Alcohol and Drug Treatment: An Exploration of Volunteer Utilization and Delivery of Recovery Services, informs his continued work in the field of Long Term Recovery support.
As an associate with The Napier Group, Leonard is a lead facilitator of the preeminent 5 day Group Leadership Intensive, a signature program that is deeply transformational and the launching platform for extended executive recovery coaching.

He is a founding member and a leader of Treatment Professionals in Alumni Services (TPAS); serves as a current President of the Pepperdine Graziadio Business School MSOD Alumni Council; and is an advisory board member for leadership development of EAP technology, the premier EAP technology and research support service for Fortune 1000 companies and the newly created EAP Connect
